The awards will be given out on June 24th, so we have over four months to speculate and choose the nominees we’d give the award to. The categories range from the usual Best Film (separated into Fantasy, Horror, Science Fiction etc) to Best DVD release and Best DVD Special Edit
Personally, I’d love to see a sequel to The Rundown , which I think is an under-appreciated film that features Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Sean William Scott cooking up some great comedic chemistry. I’d much rather he concentrate on doing another one of that than do Hancock 2 , because frankly, I don’t wanna’ see another Hancock . To me, the first installment was a fun-at-times film, but one that didn’t live up to its huge potential, IMHO. And the story was fine for one film, but the possible sequel storyline pitched by Berg awhile back didn’t sound that good to
There’s been much talk about a sequel to the 2008 surprise superhero movie Games walkthroughs|https://superheromoviespot.com/ hit, Hancock , with conversation picking up particularly when it comes to the cast of Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman possibly returning to do another. Director Peter Berg said a few months ago that everyone was excited to return , but not long after that Bateman came out and said he hadn’t heard anything about him returning (we’re still not sure if that cluelessness was applicable to Smith and Theron, t
“To get us all in the same room where we can talk and then agree on anything? You’ll never meet a group of people who will have a harder time agreeing on anything… I think it will happen, we just all have to get in the same room with some consisten
If there was ever a film that was suited to the twisted vision of Tim Burton, this is it. I’m not the biggest Burton fan and some of what I’ve seen in the trailer doesn’t quite work for me (the Red Queen’s head is so huge it looks cartoonish), but overall this is bound to be a feast for the senses and probably the closest a screen version will get to the source mater
After learning that Watchmen: The Director’s Cut will be coming to DVD/Blu-ray (and three movie theaters) this month, we now have the first details of what Watchmen: Ultimate Collector’s Edition will be all about, as well as a highly-anticipated deleted scene from the full-length film: Check out the death of Nite Owl!It’s funny, last week I wrote a post about the new scenes featured in Watchmen: The Director’s Cut . In that post I made special mention of the fact that in the Watchmen graphic novel, one of the keystone story elements was the life (and subsequent violent death) of Hollis Mason, the first Nite Owl, who is wonderfully portrayed in the film (and the “Under The Hood” documentary tie-in) by Stephen McHat
Benicio del Toro is a great actor and I’m looking forward to seeing him as the tortured soul cursed by the, uh, curse of the werewolf. It looks like they’ll be trying to do as much as they can with practical visual effects (although I’m sure there will be CGI as well) and that suits this f
Are you looking forward to Hancock 2 ? Are you annoyed it will be hitting theaters later rather than sooner? Would you be bothered if Berg didn’t come back to direct again, since he appears to be ultra-busy with other proje
Keeping in line with all of the rest of the major awards, films like Avatar , The Hurt Locker and Inglourious Basterds have snagged a high amount of noms, with a couple of fan-favorites like District 9 and Star Trek also being inclu
So for some time now Watchmen director Zack Snyder has been saying there would be two versions of Watchmen released on DVD/Blu-ray: a directors cut, featuring the full-length version of Watchmen not shown in theaters, as well as an “ultimate edition” of the film, which would include the full-lentgh film interwoven with the animated Tales of the Black Freighter side-story, just like in the original graphic no
Similar to the Scream Awards , I really dig the Saturn Awards because of the types of films they celebrate. Often with awards like the Oscars and the Golden Globes, purely fun films that have every bit of merit as the serious ones get left
When asked about whether Hancock 2 would be his next film AFTER Battleship , Berg said he wants to do Lone Survivor , which tells the tale of, “17 seals that were killed in one gunfight in Afghanistan. One survived.” But what about after that? Well, Berg didn’t say, but hasn’t ruled out a sequel to his action-adventure, The Rundown . He’s not sure why there hasn’t already been plans put in place to do The Rundown 2 , but said he’d definitely be up for doing anot
I’m a little (no, A LOT) suspect of The Book of Eli , Transformers 2 and Wolverine getting nominated for Best Fantasy Film (and District 9 didn’t?!) and New Moon and The Box getting nominated in the Horror category (were either of those even horror movie
I went on to say that McHattie (arguably the best actor in the film besides Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach) deserved more screen time than he got in Watchmen , and how it was especially disappointing that his climatic death had been axed from the theatrical vers
