One of Microsoft’s strongest franchises — the racing simulator Forza Motorsport — was given its seventh installment announcement, showing impressively alluring gameplay smoothly operating at an impressive 4K and 60 FPS on Xbox On
Tomas: Fortunately I stopped and Azario was able to get back on the ship after about a minute of swimming, and we continued our voyage to the island. It was smooth sailing (pun intended) from there. Once we reached the island, I had someone shoot me out of a cannon onto the isl
Of course, the abundance of open water does inevitably lend itself to islands to stop by and pillage — hearkening, of course, to the more casual affairs of Wind Waker and the game does indeed share many similarities — obvious or otherwise, good and bad. But if anything, Sea of Thieves reminds me more so of Jalopy — a rather unexciting-yet-ironically-stimulating simulation of driving one’s car down a highway. And just like that game, there’s an uncanny loft of satisfaction to be had in the mundane and the repetitive. Particularly when you’re lucky enough to land yourself with a crew equally as focused as yourself…and not just there to troll or ruin the fun for everyone’s sake, which sadly me and a friend got paired up with on our venturing for treasure. Disappointing as it is for some to play mutiny (albeit unintentionally) and ride your ship away from the island you’re stuck on, perhaps that’s just click the up coming site part of the general risk. After all, this is a game about pirates; just like the Souls games, the anarchy and unruliness of the real world bleed fittingly into the context of the premise.
According to Rare, the studio wants to offer a balanced experience that’s equal in almost every facet. In practice, that means a game with full feature parity, but more than that it means an equal playing field from day one. So Rare also says they’re planning on launching Sea of Thieves day and date on both console and PC, with launch still on track for early 2
For now, though, Rare will continue with the development of Sea of Thieves in preparation for its forthcoming launch. There’s plenty to do, and Rare seems like they’re adding new ideas as fast as they can come up with them. The studio just revealed how players can now get sick and vomit into a bucket, then use the bucket as a weapon against friends (or alli
This isn’t the first time that Rare has talked about cross-play for Sea of Thieves , however. Earlier this year, when Rare first activated the closed alpha on PC, the team decided to try out cross-play just to see how it felt. Executive Producer Joe Neate called the experience “magical,” explaining that it led him to question why any game would split player bases. But questions about balance and fairness prevented Rare from making it official straight away, however the more the studio considered cross-play, the more it realized there was no good reason not to include
Undead Labs’ open-world zombie survival, State of Decay, was met with a long-awaited sequel State of Decay 2 . A gory gameplay trailer was retrofitted in the announcement, running in 4K in addition to a sprinkle of an additional element where players can expect to make decisions in order to secure the survival of their gr
Tomas: This is where my one problem with what we played of Sea of Thieves arose. While Noah, Logan, and Azario manned the ship, I was tasked with guarding the chest, as it supposedly could sabotage us on our way back. Unfortunately, this never happened so I was just stuck standing around the last couple minutes of our demo. I am worried that there will be periods in the game where certain crew members won’t have anything to do, making the experience realistic, albeit boring for t
Microsoft has officially announced that Rare’s multiplayer pirate action game Sea of Thieves will feature cross-play between Xbox One and PC. The announcement came during today’s Xbox Gamescom livestream, which included some new trailers, a few announcements, and concluded with the launch of Xbox One X pre-orders. But cross-play for Sea of Thieves could be the biggest surprise, with the game’s closed technical alpha implementing the feature, effective immediat
Lawbreakers feels like the game that Cliff Bleszinski and the Boss Key team was destined to make. A flashy spiritual successor to the multiplayer FPS titles of yesteryear, Lawbreakers is unapologetic in its approach. The game doesn’t want to fit in with the Joneses, but instead chooses to deliver an experience that follows a specific vision. Most importantly the game just looks like it delivers loads of fun. Something we are very happy to see Cliffy B get back
Noah: Azario could tell you first hand Tom. I think the game has the potential to recreate a pirate experience, while also making sure you and your crew have a blast. I would’ve loved to have been able to engage in ship-to-ship combat in our demo but alas, the expansive map makes player-vs-player encounters rare, and as such, more satisfying when it does occur. I can only imagine the shenanigans that will transpire in the full g
