With Nintendo forgoing a traditional press conference yet again, the extent of the Big N’s presence at E3 is a bit of an unknown factor. However, we do know that Nintendo plans on hosting a Nintendo Direct presentation like it did last year, and this time it will be headlined by Super Mario Odyssey , the biggest Nintendo Switch exclusive game on the horizon. What we’ve seen of Super Mario Odyssey so far has been plenty impressive, but along with more gameplay footage, here’s hoping that Nintendo also gives the highly anticipated game a release date come E3 next w
Fable was always a game that felt like you were actually building a character how you wanted. At least in terms of shaping your path and justifying moral choices. But you were kind of tied down to the armour available in the game’s world. And while that in itself was okay, I think I’d like to have the choice to visit a blacksmith and customize my armour and weapons’ appeara
Well, not exactly. For starters, none of the three things mentioned made it into the game. Yes, your character did grow up, but via a timeskip rather than over time. You could choose between good and evil, you could get married, you could make your character fat or thin, but it ultimately didn’t mean anything. The ending was still the same and your choices really didn’t change much of anything. All the choices seemed tacked on for gimmick’s sake. Still, Fable has its fans who enjoy it for what it is but it didn’t contain everything Molyneux said it would, and that’s why it makes it onto the l
Please note: just because a game didn’t deliver on everything it said it would doesn’t mean it was bad . A number of these games were still good, or at least decent. They just didn’t deliver of everything they were meant
Accessibility in the video games industry boomed massively in 2020. We saw Ubisoft , Naughty Dog , and other studios both big and small making efforts to allow more players to play their games. Xbox has done a great job in creating accessible experiences for players , and also has a huge focus on the tagline “When everyone plays, we all win”. With Playground Games being under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella, I’m hoping we’ll see a wealth of accessibility features done w
1. Homefront
Homefront had a lot of promise behind it. Instead of being an ultra-futuristic space shooter or one taking place in a famous historical war, it would take place in the near future and tell the close-to-home story of a battle between scattered U.S. Forces and an oppressive Korean government. It was something different and held a lot of expectations as a new force in FPS gam
But earning those power-ups isn’t as simple as spending one’s earned coins, it’s actually facilitated via the game’s coolest feature. After each level players accumulate a certain number of dice rolls, which determine the improvements they have access to. Rather than being able to increase your damage percentage outright, players have to hope they roll the appropriate number and land on that space. It’s quite an ingenious little addition, and helps keep that carrot-on-a-stick always out of re
Movement off the horse, such as in a dungeon or mine, occurs with no player input, putting focus solely on clearing away baddies. Combat is handled via two main powers controlled by each hand. The right hand casts a damage-dealing attack spell, while the left hand can push enemies back or fling environmental objects at them. To execute either attack, you simply aim at the intended target and push your lower arm away from your upper arm with the palm facing out. While it’s a simple combat system, it truly feels that you are the one casting the spells — always a victory for https://Www.adventuretrailhub.com/ motion-based titles. Common variances like needing the left hand to pull the armor off of an enemy, while dealing damage with the right prevents gameplay from seeming stale.
The previous games were developed around the time where accessibility wasn’t as intentional, yet it still had interesting visual elements that helped in gameplay. Outlines were present around characters and interactive objects, the UI was fairly well presented and clear, the subtitles weren’t perfect, but they were there. If the studio follows its learnings from Forza Horizon 4 as well as other Xbox Game Studios titles such as Gears 5 , I’d be excited to see more players enjoy and experience the g
We don’t have much official information on 2017’s Assassin’s Creed game, except for the fact that it exists and is due for release later this year. It appears as though Ubisoft is keeping the game under wraps for a big reveal at E3, but some leaks have suggested that its full title will be Assassin’s Creed Origins , it will take place in Egypt, and its protagonist will be named Ba Yek . Other rumors have teased that the game will abandon both multiplayer and naval combat, suggesting that this year’s Assassin’s Creed may signal a return to the franchise’s ro
