Why Does our Skin Sag as We Age?

To comprehend why skin sags, we need to acquaint ourselves with collagen and elastin—two fundamental proteins that contribute to the skin’s structure and elasticity.

Collagen: Collagen is a fibrous protein that acts as the scaffolding for our skin. It provides the framework that keeps the skin firm, supple, and youthful.

Elastin: Elastin, as the name suggests, gives the skin its elasticity, allowing it to snap back into place after being stretched or moved.

A key player in the sagging process is the gradual reduction of collagen and elastin production as we age. in our mid-20s, the body’s natural of these proteins begins to decline. This becomes more noticeable as we move into our 30s and beyond.

As collagen levels diminish, the skin’s underlying support weakens. The once-strong network of collagen fibers loses density, resulting in a loss of skin firmness and the emergence of fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, the decline in elastin contributes to decreased skin elasticity, making it more susceptible to sagging.

External factors, such as exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun and environmental pollutants, can accelerate the breakdown of collagen and elastin fibers. UV radiation, in particular, triggers the production of enzymes that degrade collagen, leading to premature sagging and aging. Unhealthy choices like smoking and poor diet can also skin sagging by contributing to oxidative stress and inflammation.

the science behind skin sagging empowers us to make decisions about our skincare and aging gracefully. While we can’t halt the passage of time, we can take steps to support our skin’s health and vitality. By nourishing our skin, protecting it from environmental damage, and considering treatments that promote collagen production, we can embrace the journey of aging while maintaining the natural beauty that defines us.

This causes small injuries to the underlying tissue. As that tissue heals, new collagen is produced, gradually giving you a natural rejuvenating effect.

We use the latest technology devices by  and  to deliver energy to the dermal tissue.  This traumatises the treatment zone, which promotes healing, contraction, and collagen stimulation. During the treatment sessions, your skin becomes firmer!
