The Diminutive Couronne[43] (literally “Little Crown”, or inside ring) is settled by the troika departments bordering Paris, forming a geographic capitulum close to it. These departments, until 1968 partially of the disbanded Seine department, are Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne. The all but populated towns of the Bantam Couronne are Boulogne-Billancourt, Montreuil, Saint-Denis, Nanterre and Créteil.
